Greenbriar Bluestem Connector Trail to Open in December

Construction on the new Greenbriar Connector Trail began last fall. The trail is expected to be opened December 8, 2011., it was identified in the West TSA Plan. The connector will provide neighborhood access from Greenbriar Blvd to the Big Bluestem Trail near Thomas Lane.

Boulder’s Rizzo eighth in Marathon at Pan American Games

Patrick Rizzo of Team USA finished eighth in the men’s marathon in two hours, 21 minutes, 58 seconds on the final day of competition at the XVI Pan American Games Sunday.
Rizzo, 28 who trains in Boulder while working for Runners Roost, said he didn’t have any problem with the mile high altitude (elevation 5,138 feet) for the race, which included four laps on a 10,000-meter course along Avenue Vallarta by the Arcos de Guadalajara Monument to downtown Guadalajara.

Buffs Capture First Ever Pac-12 Conference Titles

The University of Colorado cross country teams won the first ever Pac-12 Conference titles in any sport on Saturday morning, sweeping the men’s and women’s races at the Wigwam Golf Course. “I would give each team an ‘A’ for today’s performance,” head coach Mark Wetmore said. “They came out and raced what they were capable of and some even exceeded expectations. It was a good day and we couldn’t have asked for much more from either team.”
