Indoor Track Schedule for 2013 Open and Masters

Indoor track meets are held primarily as college meets but there are events that are open to the public to race in, including events for Masters athletes. The tracks are smaller with much tighter turns and the races are very intimate often time with spectators

CU’s Track & Field Outlook for 2013

The start of the 2013 University of Colorado track and field season will once again kick off with the Buffs hosting the Potts Indoor Invitational, January 18-19, at Balch Fieldhouse. The complete schedule is available at CUBuffs.com. It will be CU’s only home meet during the indoor season but CU will also host a pair of outdoor meets, the Jerry Quiller Classic, March 15-16, and the Colorado Invitational, April 12-13.

Active at Altitude, the unique residential training retreat in Estes Park, Colorado, has announced the 2013 dates for its popular one-week women’s running and conditioning camps. The camps are exciting opportunities for women runners looking to take their running to the next level for any race distance up to marathon, or to renew a connection to the joy of running. 2013 marks the 5th year of the camps, which have developed a reputation for educating, inspiring, and providing a safe environment for women runners of all abilities to challenge boundaries and form new friendships.

Chapman Drive

Chapman Drive Trail reopens connecting Flagstaff & Boulder Canyon

Chapman Drive Trail, aka Flagstaff Summit Road, which connects Boulder Canyon Drive at the Red Lion Inn to Flagstaff Road via the north side of Flagstaff Mountain will now be open thanks to several initiatives that are now complete.

In December, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks removed old rotting pipes from the cattle guard and reconstructed the switchback about a mile down from Realization point which had collapsed in two places. The city recently purchased the Schnell property in order to complete the plans to finish the Chapman Drive Trail and finally the bridge connecting Boulder Canyon Drive to the Red Lion Inn was rebuilt after it was destroyed two and a half years ago due to heavy floods.

On January 1st 2013, the BoldRunning training club will become Revolution Running. The BoldRunning club originates from the BolderBOULDER 10K race as its official training program, gradually developing into a year round club training for many other races.

Kipp Wins First Individual Pac-12 Title
