There are 50,000 #RunBelievable stories behind the starting line each year at the America’s All Time Best 10k – The BolderBoulder. Back in April the BolderBoulder asked runners to share their story, the type of story that looked to inspire friends and family to live boldly.
The first of three, Running to Connect Back Home is about the Anderson family who has lovingly adopted four children from Ethiopia. They have never run the race before who, but will run the race with their kids and cheer for Team Ethiopia in the International Team Challenge which their eldest hopes to be a part of some day.
Local running group Beyond Limits was formed in 2003 helping those with disabilities train for and complete the BolderBoulder. The team’s main goal is to motivate it’s team members to practice and complete the 10K race and to act as ambassadors for people with disabilities. Some of the original members of the Beyond Limits team are participating again this year.
Nothing can stop Lillian Collier, who survived being hit by a car on her bike in 2010 suffering major injuries. She was in the in the ICU for a month in a drug induced coma, then faced months of reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation. Her tenacity took her from learning how to walk again to running 6.2 miles in less than a year. That’s pretty amazing.
All of these stories truly inspire us to live Bolder. Take a moment to watch all three and cast a vote for your favorite. The winning video will be shown on race day in Folsom Field to 50,000 BolderBOULDER fans and will receive $500 and a bold cornucopia of sponsor gifts.
