Celebrate the Olympic Spirit at the Boulder Road Runners All-Comers meet next Thursday night June 19 from 5:30 pm. to sundown at CU’s Frank Potts Field, 4001 Discovery CU Research Park. Commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games, Olympic Day is not only a celebration, but an international effort to promote fitness and well-being in addition to the Olympic ideals of Fair Play, Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship. It is celebrated annually on June 23rd, by thousands of people in more than 160 countries.

Starting at 5:30, Rob Bostwick will give the welcoming speech followed by Olympic and Paralympic athlete introductions. The national anthem will be sang by Lorraine Green before the track meet begins at 6pm.

There will be photo and one-on-one opportunities to ask questions of the Olympians and Paralympians. Olympic Day is also presented by Lending Sight and Achilles International – Colorado.

6:20 the Mile

6:35 400m

6:55 800m

7:10 200m

7:30 3000m Steeplechase

7:50 4x100m relay

8:00 5000m

The summer All-Commers series is held every other Thursday in the summer with multiple track and field events. The price for each event is only $3 for BRR Members and $5 for non-members. Everyone of all ages and abilities are welcome to come out and race.
