Boulder is home to numerous fun runs and group runs – Flatirons Running’s Wednesday night fun run, Fleet Feet’s Saturday morning run, Boulder Running Company’s Sunday morning trail run, and many others – and now one more can be added to the mix: the Salomon Run Club.
Debuting on a cool April evening at Chautauqua Park, the Salomon Run Club is hosted by Ryan Lassen, Boulder Community Manager for Salomon Running USA. With over 40 trail runners showing up to the initial run, and about the same number attending the second one a week later, the Club is off to an impressive start. “Our goal is to bring together the community of runners in the Boulder area and build the sport of trail running,” said Ryan on the purpose behind the Club.
With free Salomon demos across several styles of shoes, the Club brings together trail runners for a fun run on the trails around Chautauqua Park before returning to beer, food, and swag.
“What a blast, thanks for putting on such a great event,” commented Kendra Rossini on Facebook after the first run.
The Club meets every Tuesday at Chautauqua Park – just look for the Salomon van – and the run starts at 6pm. Although Boulder already has numerous clubs, group runs, and so forth, the Tuesday evening edition of the Salomon Run Club is a welcome bonus. Just like the Monday evening Rocky Mountain Runner’s group run, the Tuesday Salomon run brings together like minded people who get to try out new Salomon products, swap stories while out on the trails, and enjoy a welcome wind down to what for many people is one of the more hectic days of the week.
As John Sacco said, “Good times! Thank you for a bad ass group trail run!”
