The iconic Downtown Boulder Race Series is back for 2015. Flatirons Running has revamped the series with a new collection of race distances for some honest and fun racing throughout the summer months. The series title sponsor is New Balance and there will be series prizes.
Kicking off the series will be the Flatirons 10k on Sunday June 28. The race will start and end at 14th and Pearl in the heart of downtown. The course hasn’t been announced yet, but I would imagine it may follow the 10k/half marathon course run last year up Broadway to Iris and back through town looping back to the start.
In July the West End will again host a race, but this year it will change to a 4k, 2 laps starting at the old Daily Camera building location at 11th and Pearl. Last year this race went on hiatus because of the construction on the West End. This year it will be held on Thursday July 23, 2015 and the racing will start at 6pm with the Kid’s 2k lead into the Corporate Challenge, Open waves and Elite Men’s and Women’s wave at 7:30pm. This is always a spectator friendly course.
The crown jewel of the series will be the popular Pearl Street Mile held this year on Wednesday night August 12, 2015. The four waves of races will again begin with the Kid’s race at 6pm, and then the open, Elite Women and Elite Men will follow. Whether you can run a 4:30 mile or a 15 minute mile, this race has something
You can save some money and register for all 3 races for just $60 (the cost for pre-registration of all events are $85, day of would be $100)
