Fourth of July races are one of the year’s most popular of race holidays. There were multiple races from all around the state of Colorado from the Mile to the Half Marathon distance. Here are a few photos and results from local races in Boulder, CO.

Superior Downhill Mile

The morning of the 4th, starts early with a 7:00 am gun of the Superior Downhill Mile. Just under 400 runners, young and old, took the the point to point course that drops 185 ft in the mile long course. Ryan Parker edged out Mattieu Caldwell for the win as they both ran 4:11 and Sean Stetler was a step behind with a time of 4:12. Brook Handler was the top female finisher in 4:28, followed closely by Carmen Graves and Hiruni Wijayaratne 4:34, 4:36 respectively.

Avery’s Four on the Fourth

William Firth stole the show this day, holding a significant lead through all of the 4k distance with a 4:52 average page finishing in 12:05. Thomas Heffernan finished second in 12:28 holding off Joe Zamadics  and his kick for 3rd finishing in 12:36. On the women’s side it was Bria Wetsch out front, finishing in 13:58, while Bridget End held off Sarah Jonathan by 2 seconds as with times of 14:54 and 14:56 for second and third place.

Longmont Half and 5k

Half Frasier Walsh 1:15:12 Becky Lyn, 1:25:15

Top finishers in the 5k were Cory Kool in 17:47 and Shawna Han in 18:24.

Let Freedom Run 5K, 10K and Kids Run

Out in Louisville starting at the Louisville Recreation Center, Greg Weich and Gabrielle Glime were the top 5k finishers in 18:18  and 19:52 respectively. Top finishers in the 10k were Julian Caldaron with a time of 40:15, Joanna Zeiger running 43:15.
