Alex Monroe of Lyons and Eri Hayakawa of Louisville took top honors at the 42nd annual Longmont Turkey Trot 10k on Saturday Nov 12. Monroe covered the gently rolling course through Longmont’s western neighborhoods and roads finishing in 30:29. Hayakawa ran 35:44 for her first place finish.
Tim Rackers of Louisville and Jeremy Parks of Westminster, finished up the top 3 for the men while Emma Kenyon and Valarie Martus topped the women’s podium. 579 runners participated in the 10k.
The race also featured one of the area’s only 2 mile races. Connor Ryer, and Kristen Arendt both of Boulder took first place finishing 9:55 and 10:40 respectively. 1035 runners competed in the 2 mile race.

Upcoming Turkey Trots
Boulder’s annual tradition, the Boulder Road Runner Turkey Trot Benefitting Community Food Share, normally held at the CU Research Park, will not be held this year due to ongoing construction on the property. “We sincerely regret this cancellation, but do plan to return in 2017 for the biggest and best Turkey Trot ever in Boulder” – Boulder Road Runners
So it looks like the the Free Turkey Trot in Louisville 5k will be the place to race, 9am on Thanksgiving Day.
