The 2013 ColderBoulder earned its name again this year with the coldest race to date recording temperatures from -5° to 5° at race starts. The ColderBoulder is a unique 5K that includes 12 invitational races for runners that finished the 2013 BolderBOULDER between 40 and 64 minutes and an open race for all runners. The course winds through the scenic University of Colorado campus, finishing inside the warm Balch Field House where runners could enjoy warm chicken sandwiches from Chic-fil-a and a cold beer courtesy of Oscar Blues. This race is a unique opportunity for runners of all abilities to earn a spot on the podium as awards were given to the top 3 finishers in each wave.

Charles Lucero (age 18) ran 17:28 for the 5k recording the fastest time of the day sporting only shorts and a singlet also proving he was the craziest of the morning. Over 820 runners braved the cold on Saturday December 7, full results for all waves can be found at
