Running Film Festival debuts at Boulder Theatre Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Weekend is without a doubt, the best three days in Boulder, and now it’s even better!
For the first time ever, there will be a film festival dedicated to running. If you’re looking for some pre-race inspiration, or just interested in all things running, check out the RunDeep Film Festival on Saturday May 23rd at the Boulder Theater. There are two blocks of films, one starting at 2pm, and the other at 5pm. The first block contains many short films. The second block contains a feature film and is followed by a panel of local hot shot local runners including Adam Chase, Darcey Piceu, Brian Metzler, and Krissy Moehl. There will be a fun after party with live music from 7:30-8:30pm.
On a personal note, my film ‘Running Wild‘ will have its premiere during the first block. It’s a fast paced adventure, documenting my first go at a 50 mile race, but things get derailed in the bottom of the Copper Canyons due to tragic events. The organizers of RunDeep hope to take this festival on the road and spread the love of running all over the U.S.
A badge of honor. The colorful #CaballoBlanco posters proudly adorn the walls and doors of just about every business in Urique and surrounding towns in the Copper Canyon. This race is a huge deal for the local economy, and equally important for the Tarahumaran runners, who all receive corn vouchers for participating. It’ll be interesting to see how this race continues in the future… #mexico
