Last month, Google asked the public to submit nominations for where to first send the new trike. And the Boulder Creek Path made it to the list of finalists in the “parks and trails” category. Now the paved path that snakes from Boulder Canyon along the creek to flats east of town will compete against paths in California, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington for first dibs on the picture-taking bike.
“Street View has been particularly popular with hikers, bikers and other outdoor explorers, and we’ve heard so many recommendations of other places where they wish imagery would be available,” said Sean Carlson, a Google spokesman. “Since we can’t send a Street View trike everywhere at the same time, we wanted to hear everyone’s best ides of where it should go next.”
