Need any other reason to start your fitness this year? Training with a group helps motivate you, and can it get any better than free?
BoldRunning, the official training program of the BolderBOULDER will offer a month of free runs and workouts from February 12th – March 12th to help get you started. The session leads right into the beginning of the 10 week training program specifically tailored to run your best BoulderBoulder 10k on Memorial Day.
“The idea is to help people get started on their BB training early or to close the gap between their winter training and spring/summer ambitions.”
“Typically we have a lot of beginners come out for the BolderBOULDER training program. This free and open format will help make training more accessible without the need to commit to a full blown program. Hopefully this will encourage people to give it a go or simple come out to meet other runners for a workout.” Says program director Ewen North.
“Everyone is welcome to come and check out any of the runs, whether you’re a complete beginner or seasoned competitor, you will find others to run with. We are a fun and energetic group so don’t be shy” He adds.
The sessions will include some basic training and nothing too intense or overly structured. Perhaps a few simple interval workouts, introductory hill repeats and easy runs to get everyone together and moving in the right direction.
Seasoned coaches will be on hand informally just to help lead the runs and to be available for questions. One of those coaches is Heather North who will be available at the Thursday sessions.
“This is a great time to take the pressure off of everything without a goal race and really focus on fun and getting fit. When a runner can come down to a new group without having to commit initially it takes the pressure and intimidation off.”
All runs are FREE and there is no need to register. The weekly group runs will meet at the following locations:
