The 2012 BolderBoulder 10k is officially 11 weeks away and even though this spring like weather is taunting us to get outside and run, sometimes you need more to motivate you and to keep you on track for your goals. Will you train with a group or on your own for this year’s BolderBoulder?
The most popular running series in Colorado’s Pikes Peak region is adding chip timing for all of its events in 2012. The Triple Crown of Running events include the Garden of the Gods 10 Mile on June 10, the Summer Round up 12 Kilometer Trail Race on July 8, and the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon on the weekend of August 18-19.
Its that time of the year for costumes and cross country races. Sometimes mixed together. Get out and enjoy the fall weather and colors in these fun fall races!
The Boulder 3 Race Series highlights events around Boulder County with some nice prizes. Each of the events is independent. They each have their own community feel, organizers and beneficiaries, but have joined together to promote each other and offer prizes for the series, in addition to the prizes at the individual races. Come out and try some new and different events.
There are some new changes for this year that have many people re-thinking their race day strategies.
The BolderBOULDER will kick start its official training program with the help of five Colorado based Olympians and professional runners. They will join a team of ‘BoldRunning’ coaches to take prospective participants on a sample fun run. The event will take place on Saturday March 12th at Dick’s Sporting Goods at the Flatiron Crossing Mall in Broomfield, starting at 10:00am. Everyone is welcome regardless of experience or ability.
2011 will mark the one of the most significant course changes since moving the finish into Folsom Field 30 years ago; A change of the starting line.
Thanksgiving is a time for bringing family and friends together, sharing in what we are thankful for. This will be my first time in 15 years I will not be in Colorado to run with friends and my peers. Luckily Thankgiving Day races can be enjoyed in almost every community.

The Eerie-Erie is a 5K and 10K Halloween race through Erie, Colorado, a historic coal mining town incorporated in 1874. All proceeds go to Erie Optimist Club which provides activities, scholarships for the youth of Erie. Also 1/4 mi. run for 8 & under. Training
The Boulder Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k events have been rescheduled for Sunday October 3, 2010.
A very pregnant Sara Vaughn nearly gave birth to her second child when she jumped up in excitement, cheering along with the other 50,000 fans packing the University of Colorado football stadium when she saw husband Brent Vaughn sprint in for fourth place at the 32nd Dick’s Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER 10K at Monday’s Memorial Day tradition.
