Most times I enjoy the feeling of toeing the line of a race waiting for its story to unravel. With meager training volume and a few quality workouts, I had shallow expectations for the outcome of the race. The only thing I planned to do was to run under control and finish strong.
Thanksgiving is a time for bringing family and friends together, sharing in what we are thankful for. This will be my first time in 15 years I will not be in Colorado to run with friends and my peers. Luckily Thankgiving Day races can be enjoyed in almost every community.
I am not so great about keeping traditions. Its not that I don't want to make and keep with them. I love the idea of doing something annually for the sake of consistency, meeting up with friends new and old, and now introducing my children to those things I love and feel are important. I believe this is the allure of the Turkey Trot as part of our holiday tradition.
