Starting as early as Thursday, March 1, the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department will begin repair work along the Foothills South Trail. To help expedite the completion of these repairs, the trail will be closed from Four Mile Creek south to Utica Avenue between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The trail will be open on the weekends. OSMP anticipates it will take two months to complete this project – weather permitting. This project will repair trail damage from 2013 floods, reduce muddy trail conditions and improve trail sustainability. OSMP understands the impact these repairs and trail closures will have on your open space experience, and the department appreciates your patience.
This project does not include the installation of a new bridge over the Four Mile Canyon Creek crossing. The bridge project is currently going through engineering and design, and will require several permitting and review processes. For more information, please visit OSMPProjects.org.
